Timeline: Garlemald occupation of Doma, ARR-Shadowbringers:Born to a clan that had moved from Yanxia to The Shroud when the Garleans invaded Doma, Karumi lived with her clan as all Keepers did. She grew up knowing little to nothing of what it was like in her homeland. However, she always wondered about the world outside the forest. Despite how frail Karumi was the curiosity for the outside world grew. The world that her mother saw, she wished to see it for herself. Her mother, on the other hand was against the idea. Growing up, Karumi had no desire to hunt, preferring to spend her days idle and carefree. Despite being the chieftain's daughter, she had no such desire to inherit the position, causing friction with her mother. One night after an argument with her mother, Karumi had run off in a fit of anger. Awhile later, Karumi felt a surge of panic and headed for home, noting how the moon had turned an eerie red color. Upon returning home, she found it beseiged by Voidsent. Frantic and terrified, she fought her best to fight off the remaining creatures. Just when she thought she was done for, her mother sacrificed herself to save Karumi. With her dying breath she reconciled with her daughter bidding her to, "leave the forest, find your place in the world." As the remaining voidsent encroached around them a white light engulfed the pair of them and she was rendered unconscious.Karumi woke the next morning, dazed but alive. She glanced at her hands, realizing her mother had not only given the last of her life to destroy the remaining voidsent, but had transferred some of her magic to her, all over her body patterns of light appeared. Grabbing a tattered robe, she surveyed what was left of her home, finding a silver hairpin and some supplies. As she packed to leave she felt...something, or heard something. A whisper of something, the pond near her home rippled and seemed to speak to her, confused and wanting a fresh start and to mark her first steps of her journey and guided by the whispers of the forest, Karumi traveled to Gridania, wherein she had discovered that she was a Hearer. Though she struggled to fit into the Gridanian's way of living, slowly she acclimated to their ways. Despite this, she still faces some harship and is still viewed as an outsider by some.5 years passed since what came to be known as the Calamity and now Karumi is a quiet, helpful, member of the Conjurer's guild. Taking on many a request. But her curiosity for the outside world still lingers.Due to her quiet nature, she took up a job in a library's cafe. Hoping to come out of her shell and meet others, she works earnestly, always keeping a calm demeanor.Endwalker:
